What is the largest volcano?

Mauna Loa,  a shield volcano that is located in Hawaii is considered to be the largest volcano in the planet.  peaks at 13,769 ft , 3100 ft below sea level with prominence of 7,079 ft. 

Mauna Loa means " Long Mountain" in Hawaiian which composed of broad, rounded slopes that  covers more than 50 percent of Hawaii Island. It is one of the five volcanoes in Hawaii, the others are Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, and Kilauae. The oldest rock found in Mauna Loa is estimated to be between 100,000 and 200, 000 years ago and it's surface is covered with a 10,000 years old lava flows. It's latest eruption records back from 24th of March  to 15th of April 1984. As of today, no recent eruption recorded which classifies it a dormant volcano.
